Track & Field Crosses The Red River

DENTON, Texas (1/18/13) - North Texas track & field travels to Norman for the first time in the 2013 indoor season for the J.D. Martin Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.

The Mean Green is coming off an impressive showing at the Texas A&M 12-Team Invitational last week that placed 19 athletes from 11 different events in the top five of the Sun Belt Conference performance list.

Week Two Notes

Senior Jo Adams returns after a first-place finish in the 3,000 meter run that has her atop of the SBC performance list. Adams set a personal record of 9:51.26, which is more than 20 seconds faster than the next person in the conference.

Junior Charleston Lewis broke his own school record weight throw with a 17.22 meter throw that captured a sixth-place finish for Lewis at the Texas A&M 12 Team Invitational. Lewis' previous school record was 16.76 meters.

The J.D. Martin Invitational begins at 11 a.m. with the field events, while the running events begin at 12:30 p.m. Live results will be posted through OU's timing company's website, deltatiming.com.
