EL PASO, Texas (4/13/13) - The North Texas track & field team picked up 24 top-five finishes this weekend at the UTEP Invitational at Kidd Field.

Steven White led the running athletes with a first-place finish in the men's 400 hurdles crossing the line at 50.80. The men's 4x100 meter relay team, composed of James Fowler, Clint Collins, Johnny Hickman and Terrance Williams, captured second in 40.94.

Aaron Sirles threw 53-11.75 feet to win the men's shot put, Brandon Fricke placed third in the event with a throw of 49-10.50 feet.

John Garrish threw 186-10 feet to finish second in the men's hammer throw. His throw is second in school history. 

Terrance Williams leapt a personal best 24-08.50 feet to grab a third-place finish in the men's long jump. Tom Kalisky threw the javelin 194-04 feet to move into the fifth spot in school history.

Haley Thompson led the women's side with a top-spot finish in the women's high jump with a personal best 5-08.50 feet.

Michaela Williams captured third in the women's triple jump with a personal best 39-04.00 feet, nearly a foot farther than her previous best.

Sarah Korn placed third in the women's pole vault with personal best height of 11-06.50 feet. Madison Northcutt tied with Korn for third with the same height.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team, composed of Jamila Cartwright, Chastity Stewart, Ashley Henry and Nadiyah El-Amin, posted a season best 3:43.84 time to finish third. Stewart went on to run a personal best 13.65 in the women's 100 hurdles taking third.

North Texas track & field will split up to participate in the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calf., April 18-20 and the Michael Johnson Classic in Waco, Texas, April 20.
