FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Chastity Stewart and Clinton Collins qualify for the NCAA Championship Meet after stellar performances in Friday’s quarterfinals, at the NCAA West Preliminary Track and Field Meet, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Stewart placed ninth 400-meter hurdles with her time of 57.74, a North Texas record, securing a spot at the NCAA Championship Finals in Eugene, Oregon beginning June 11th.

In the 400m, Collins placed second in his heat automatically advancing to the championship meet. His time of 45.85 was just shy of a personal best and placed him eighth overall.

Freshman Collin Heard finished 26th in the men’s 200m with his time of 21.23.

In the 100m hurdles, Stewart advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinals with her 16th place finish in 13.74.

Charlotte Wilson placed 13th in heat one of the women’s 3000m steeplechase. She closed out the season with her time of 10:47.87.

On Saturday, freshman Elisha Peters will compete in the women’s high jump.

The preliminary round of the 4X400m relay will take place at 9:30 p.m. the Mean Green team of Anthony Hamilton, Connor Bey, Caleb Pryor and Heard.
