Track & Field Completes UTA Bobby Lane Invitational

ARLINGTON – The North Texas track & field teams finished with two podium finishes Saturday at the UTA Bobby Lane Invitational held at Maverick Stadium.

On Friday, freshman Linnea Larsson-Huusko placed second in the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 51.33 meters (168-05 feet), third-best throw in school history. In the men’s hammer throw, junior Kevone Kennedy finished sixth and freshman Karl Sralla came in 12th.

In the 400-meter dash, freshman Darrian Johnson made her outdoor debut with a 19th place finish with a time of 59.64. Senior Alford Tribble placed 20th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.81.

Making his outdoor debut, freshman Jacob Franks came in 10th in pole vault at 4.25 meters. In men’s discus, Sralla finished third with a throw of 49.87 meters and Kennedy was fourth at 49.65 meters.

In the final event, the men’s 4x400-meter relay team finished second as senior Jamison Justice, sophomore James Cole, senior DJ Simon, and senior Collin Heard ran a personal-best time of 3:13.88.

Former North Texas student-athlete Chastity Stewart ran unattached in the 100-meter hurdles and finished first with a time of 13.70.

-Freshman Jacob Kevetter finished ninth in the 110m hurdles at 14.95
-Sophomore Nicole Auker jumped a season-high 1.60 meters in the high jump
