Track & Field Finishes 2017 C-USA Indoor Championships

Final Results

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The North Texas track & field teams completed the final day at the 2017 Conference USA indoor championships Sunday at CrossPlex indoor track. The women's team finished in ninth place and the men came in 10th.  

Freshman Breanna Eckels was named Conference USA Freshman of the meet after winning the long jump, 11th in triple jump and 24th in the 60-meter dash. 

In the women’s pole vault, sophomore Blake Skoog finished fourth with a season-best mark of 3.66 meters (12 feet). Senior Jazmine Martin took home fourth in the triple jump at 12.52 meters (41-1.74 feet).

Sophomore Susannah Lynch came in fourth in the mile with a season-best time of 4:49.73. Lynch also finished fifth in the 3000-meter run with a personal-best time of 9:43.91.

Junior Tevaun Scallion finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.38.

The 4x400-meter relays ended the championship as the women’s team placed 10th.

-Freshman Bailey Ashmore came in fifth in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 3.56 meters

What’s Next
North Texas will have three weeks to prepare for the outdoor season starting March 17 at the TCU Invitational in Fort Worth.
