Biography: 

Harvey Zimmermann graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of North Texas. In 1972, he received his MBA in Accounting/Finance from UNT, and in 1988, attended the Partner Development Seminar at Harvard University. Mr. Zimmermann joined KPMG in 1973, and was elected to Partnership in 1983. In 1997, he was the Partner in charge of KPMG Dallas/Ft. Worth Energy Practice, and retired from KPMG Dallas office in 2002. From 2002 to the present, Mr. Zimmermann has been the Accounting Department Executive in Residence at the University of North Texas, and in 2007 became the Director of the UNT Institute of Petroleum Accounting. He is a Beta Alpha Psi sponsor and the Accounting intern coordinator. He is currently instructing upper level and graduate accounting courses. Mr. Zimmermann won the Outstanding Teacher Award in 2004-2005 and, in 2008, was awarded the UNT Outstanding Alumni Award. Mr. Zimmermann is and has been active in many professional organizations including: COPAS of Dallas, the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), UNT Accounting Advisory Board, UNT Chief Executives Roundtable, UNT Foundation Board, Texas Leadership Bank Board, United Way of Metro Dallas, PLP Board member and other various community, civic and professional organizations.
