Diver Mary Beth Geeze was named Sun Belt Diver of the Week on Tuesday for her performance on Saturday, November 20th at the SCAC Western Shootout. This is North Texas' second diver of the week honor of 2010-11.

Geeze qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving meet on the one-meter board, becoming the first North Texas diver to qualify since 2003 for NCAAs. The senior set the North Texas school record on the one-meter springboard, shattering Melissa Whitaker’s 10-year old school record of 256.60. The Albuquerque, N.M., native broke what was the North Texas record on the three-meter springboard entering the day, and now is second only to Delia Covo, who posted a 280.15 on the same day.

North Texas returns to the pool on Thursday, November 2 at the Texas Invitational in Austin.
