The Ragin' Cajuns Sweep Mean Green Softball

DENTON, Texas (4/7/13) - Jordan Wallace pitched a two-hit shutout to lead the Louisiana-Lafayette softball team to a 5-0 victory and a conference sweep against North Texas on Sunday afternoon at Lovelace Stadium.

The Ragin' Cajuns improve to 25-11 and 8-4 in the Sun Belt, while the Mean Green falls to 18-17 and 6-7 in the conference. ULL won all three games against the Mean Green, securing the conference series win.

Wallace picked up her second win against North Texas on Sunday with 16 strikeouts. She gave up just two hits in seven innings of work. The ULL pitcher gave up two hits to Brooke Foster and three total walks.

The ULL offense scored its first run in the third inning off an RBI single by Brianna Cherry. Samantha Walsh put the Ragin Cajuns' ahead, 3-0, in the fourth with a two-run homer to right center field.

ULL added insurance runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

North Texas returns to action on Wednesday, April 10 when it faces nationally-ranked Oklahoma on the road.
