Marin Named To the NSCAA All-Central Region Team

DENTON - North Texas junior forward Marilyn Marin was named to the third-team All-Central Region soccer team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Marin, who led the nation in goals with 26, points with 67, and points per game, is the first player in North Texas history to be named to the all-region team by the NSCAA.

Marin turned in the best soccer season by an individual in Mean Green history this past year by becoming the all-time leader in goals, assists, points, and game-winning goals. Marin also broke single-season records in goals, points, assists, and shots on goal this season. She became the first ever Mean Green soccer player to be named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and was named to the all-conference team for the third straight season.

Marin led the Mean Green to the second most wins in school history with 14, averaged an amazing 3.53 points per game which also led the nation. Marin's 3.53 points per game will not only go down as the most in the NCAA this season, but it will also go down as the 10th most points per game in NCAA history.
