DENTON (8/17/05) - The North Texas women's soccer team sees its first action of the 2005 season when it plays a friendly match against former Mean Green players on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 pm at the Mean Green Soccer Complex. The defending Sun Belt Champions return seven starters and 11 letterwinners from a team that won a school-record 16 games last year.

The Mean Green arrived in camp last Monday and will hold double sessions through this week. The Alumni Game will be NT's final tuneup before its season opener on Friday, Aug. 26 against Eastern Illinois at El Paso. The Mean Green opens the home schedule on Wednesday, Aug. 31 against Texas State.

North Texas will play Saturday night's game at the soccer complex next to the Peterbilt Plant off Airport Road in Denton. The Mean Green plans on moving into its own facility on Bonnie Brae across from the new athletic center.
