Hedlund Signs 4 Recruits To Play For SBC Champions

University of North Texas women’s soccer head coach John Hedlund has announced the signing of four recuits who have agreed to play for his defending Sun Belt Conference championship program next fall.

The group of new players includes two high school standouts as well as Jessa Koschmann, a native of Pleasanton, La., who is transferring to North Texas after playing last season as a freshman at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, and Briana Buchanan, who transferred to North Texas from Creighton in the spring.

The two Lady Eagles’ high school recruits are from San Antonio, including midfielder Misty Cordon from Roosevelt High School and Michelle Partain from Madison High School.

"My game plan going into this off season was to sign a few players that could make an immediate impact next fall," said Hedlund, who guided the Lady Eagles to a 13-5 overall record and 7-1 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. "With this particular recruiting class I believe I achieved this goal."

Last fall the Lady Eagles captured the Sun Belt’s regular season championship for the first time in school history and advanced to the league’s post-season tournament championship game for the second straight year.
