IRVING -- North Texas soccer team's defender Dominique James was voted First-Team All-Conference Tuesday by the league's head coaches.

The sophomore from Fort Worth has started all 18 games for the Mean Green defense that has allowed the Conference USA's fewest goals all season and posted nine shutouts. North Texas this season has held nine C-USA teams to fewer goals than their season average, including shutting out UAB who is averaging over two goals per match

James has been a staple in the Mean Green's backline, playing 1,531 minutes -- the second-most on the team. 

Junior Aaliyah Nolan and sophomore Brittnye Lawson also earned all-conference honors. Nolan has been named second team and Lawson is third team.

Nolan, the program's first international player, is tied for the team lead in goals with six. She began the year as a contributor coming off the bench but since the beginning of conference play has seen her play rise. She started eight of the final nine games of the regular season and scored a goal or assisted on one in in seven of them.

Her 14 points so far this season is second on the team, only one behind Ariel Diaz.

Like James, Lawson has been a key piece to North Texas' dominating defense. 

She too started all 18 games and has registered over 1,460 minutes. The sophomore from Mesquite had one of the most important assists on the year when she found Carissa Sanders on a free kick in the final seconds of the first half in the Mean Green's 2-1 win at Charlotte.

These are the first all-conference honors for all three of the players.
