DENTON - The North Texas soccer team can wrap up the regular-season conference championship with two wins this weekend. The Mean Green stands in first place in the Conference USA standings with three games remaining.

The Mean Green travels to Hattiesburg, Miss., on Friday to play Southern Miss in a 3 p.m. game. North Texas is 1-0-1 in the young series with the Golden Eagles. North Texas brings a six-game winning streak into Friday's match, the longest streak this season.

Sunday's match is Senior Day for eight Mean Green seniors. According to CollegeSoccer360.com, the North Texas seniors are the 12th winningest senior class in the nation. The seniors have posted a 60-19-5 record in the last four years, including three conference championships and an NCAA Tournament appearance. The seniors have posted a 29-6-3 record at home the last four years and have gone undefeated against conference opponents at the Mean Green Soccer Complex.

Sunday's game is also a rematch of last year's conference championship game. Rice took the title with a 2-0 win. North Texas has not played Rice at home since joining Conference USA. NT is 0-2-1 in the last two years against Rice.
