DENTON, Texas - Following a record breaking fall season, the North Texas women's golf team is prepared to open the spring season on Sunday at the Claud Jacobs Invitational in Victoria.

The Mean Green won a school record three tournaments in the fall, capturing three of the four events they played in. North Texas sky-rocketed the rankings with the success as they open the year out ranked No. 51 in the country by Golfstat and No. 53 by Golfweek.

"Even with all of this amazing weather, the women's golf team has been doing a good job of getting prepared for our first spring, and I use that term loosely, event," said head coach Jeff Mitchell. "This is a good opportunity for us to compete against a number of top 100 teams.  Victoria Country Club is a really good course with fast greens.  We are very excited about getting back into competition."

North Texas shattered the school record for lowest round three-round score to open the year with an 872 as they captured the Worldlink North Texas Fall Classic.

Kelsey Kipp captured the Rose City Invitational, winning a marathon playoff of 12 holes to win the individual title while the Mean Green won the tournament title.

North Texas closed the year out with a win at the 33^rd annual Pat Bradley Invitational in Florida. At the Claud Jacobs Invitational the Mean Green is the second highest ranked team in the field, behind only Tulsa who is ranked No. 44.
