DENTON, Texas - On the heels of the best performance of the season, the North Texas men's golf team has climbed up to No. 26 in the nation in the newest Golfstat.com rankings.

The Mean Green shot a 22-under par at The Woodlands All-American Intercollegiate to finish in second place behind No. 8 Arkansas. North Texas defeated No. 15 Texas A&M and No. 21 Clemson as they shot the second lowest three-round score since 1998.

Curtis Donahoe finished alone in second place at 9-under par, 207, which was the lowest par-72 score by a Mean Green golfer since 1998. North Texas has six wins this season over top-25 teams.

The ranking is the highest for North Texas since opening the season at No. 3 in the country after winning the UTA/Waterchase Invitational to begin the 2010-11 year. This is the latest in the season that North Texas has been ranked this high in the Golfstat.com rankings.

North Texas is ranked No. 31 in the latest Golfweek.com rankings, which came out April 8. The Mean Green has the potential to move into the top-25 for the first time ever in the Golfweek.com rankings following their performance this week.

The No. 31 ranking is the highest ever in the Golfweek.com poll for North Texas since the magazine started putting out rankings in 1999.

North Texas returns to the course April 23-25 at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. The Mean Green is seeking its first conference title since 2003.
