Trophy Club Country Club will be the site of the 2015 Don January Golf Classic on April 13.

DENTON - Registration is now open for the 2015 Don January Golf Classic, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and will be held on April 13 at Trophy Club Country Club.

The Don January Golf Classic, which benefits the North Texas Athletics Scholarship Fund, is a five-person scramble played in three flights. Teams of four players will be teamed with a coach, administrator, personality, or athlete from North Texas Athletics, which may include members of the men's and women's golf teams. Teams may request a specific member of North Texas Athletics with whom to be paired.

The Classic will again be held at Trophy Club Country Club, named one of the best country clubs in Dallas-Fort Worth (Avid Golfer, 2011, 2013 and 2014). It's the the home club of legendary LPGA golfer and Golf Hall of Fame member Kathy Whitworth, and houses the majority of Whitworth's trophies from her 88 tour victories in a trophy case in the main dining area.

This year's Classic begins at 10 a.m. on April 13 with player sign-in. The driving range and putting green will open at this time. A lunch buffet will be served at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. At 6 p.m., dinner from Prairie House will be served, awards presented, and a silent auction held.

There will be awards this year for anyone making a hole-in-one, for first- and second-place in each flight, for the best putting team, for the player whose drive is closest to the pin, and for he player with the longest drive.
