Mean Green Climb The Leaderboard At Northern Intercollegiate

Sept. 6, 2014

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – A steady round of golf by the North Texas men’s golf team moved them up the leaderboard after the second round of the Northern Intercollegiate. The Mean Green had the fifth best round of the day with a 301 and inched their way into a tie for eighth place after two rounds.

The Rich Harvest Farms course was unforgiving for a second straight day, as only two players in the field of 73 are under-par after two rounds.

Juan Munoz moved into the top-10 overall for North Texas after a second round of 3-over par 75. Munoz for a second straight day was 3-under on the front nine, but a bogey and double bogey on his final two holes put him at 3-over for the day. Julien Marot was 4-over on the day but climbed to one spot out of the top-25, as he is tied for 26th. Marot had three birdies on the day

Jason Roets had the best round of the day for NT, with a 2-over par 74. Roets likewise had three birdies on the day as he is tied for 30th place.

Andrew Hudson and Cory Churchman are tied for 43rd place at 155 for the tournament. Churchman was 5-over on the day and Hudson was 4-over par.
