Littrell Adds Luke Walerius As Director Of Recruiting

Jan. 31, 2018

DENTON – Head coach Seth Littrell announced the addition of Luke Walerius as the football program’s director of recruiting Wednesday. Walerius previously served as a recruiting assistant for two seasons at Kentucky under head coach Mark Stoops.

“Adding Luke to our staff is something we are all very excited about,” Littrell said. “He will bring a high-energy approach and a new perspective to our recruiting efforts to continue to build on our successes in that area. He comes very highly recommended from the coaching staff at Kentucky, which we have a great deal of respect for.”

Walerius worked directly with the Kentucky coaching staff in all aspects of recruiting, including talent evaluation. Prior to his two seasons as a recruiting assistant, the Alexandria, Kentucky, native served three seasons as a student assistant in the Wildcats’ recruiting office. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in sport leadership, also from Kentucky.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to join the University of North Texas football program and coach Littrell’s staff,” Walerius said. “I have a great admiration and respect for coach Littrell and the program he is building. I am excited to help continue to take this program to the next level and look forward to working in the great state of Texas, which has the best high school football in America.”

David Stenklyft, who served as the Mean Green’s director of recruiting for the past two seasons, will now take on an advanced role serving as the director of football operations and will also oversee player personnel.
