GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas- The Mean Green cross-country teams continued to out-run top schools this weekend, with both teams placing within the top five.

Both the men and women ran at the Gerald Richey Invitational in Grand Prairie this morning. The men's team finished in third-place overall, and the women's team came in fifth.

The men's top runner was freshman Mike Lowe, coming in 10th place in the men's 5K race with a time of 15:30.0. Right behind him was sophomore James Coleman, finishing 12th with a time of 15:40.3.

On the women's side, senior Leesa Morales placed 19th in the women's 5K with a time of 19:08.8.

"It was a good opportunity for the men to run a 5K before they run a 4-mile race at the Ken Garland" said Coach Stefanie Slekis. As well as a "good opportunity for girls who won't score at conference to score for us here."

Slekis also said this race was "a good building block for the home meet," which takes place on Sept. 27th at Eagle Point Cross Country Course in Denton.
