Overview BBC London

Have you ever wanted to experience the thrill of international travel while also expanding your education beyond your imagination? Imagine living in London, England while studying the history and culture that have had a very deep influence in shaping the modern world in which we live. We will be studying Global Perspectives while living in one of the most important cities for understanding our shared past, present, and future.

We live in a world that is connected in myriad ways, including communication technology, trade, production, travel, and education. Political, economic, and cultural events affect all of us deeply. This course allows you to develop knowledge about important international issues and see them from numerous perspectives. Rather than weeks of lectures and discussions, you will be learning on the go as you experience one of the world’s greatest cities.

Academics

Location Westminster Abbey

LONDON
The capital and largest city of England and the UK, London is a vibrant and bustling city situated on the River Thames. It is an international capital of culture, music, education, fashion, politics, finance and trade. Visit one of London's many free attractions, like Tate Modern, the National Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Or, venture to the Queen's official residence at Buckingham Palace and tour the Houses of Parliament. Summer features long daylight hours as well as mostly mild temperatures. Temperatures rise to around 24°C (75°F), but can get as high as 38°C (100°F). Rain can be unpredictable, so it's best to pack an umbrella.

Housing, Meals, and Internet Access

Where visas are required, failure to obtain a visa may result in your inability to participate and, ultimately, your withdrawal from the program, subject to the terms of the Withdrawal Policy.

  • If you need assistance securing a U.S. Passport, visit the UNT U.S. Passport Acceptance Office.
  • SAO recommends traveling on a passport that will remain valid for at least six months after the program return date.  For this program, passports should be valid through December 30th, 2018.
