Hello, my name is Thomas Dority a Student Director and Vice President with the University of North Texas’ Professional Leadership Program. This coming year I will complete my undergraduate education with honors, majoring in Finance and minoring in Professional Business to Business Selling. Prior to my graduation in May 2018, I will be continuing my work as a business development consultant with C.H. Robinson, finishing my last two semesters of classwork and trying to balance a social life!
Before I began my academic career at UNT, I graduated from Edward S. Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas. This is where I grew up with my mother and brother, Will, who just recently graduated high school and is now on his way to the University of Arkansas. Additionally, I frequently make trips south towards Austin, Texas to visit my father whom I am also very close with. Outside of class, work, and the Professional Leadership Program I enjoy spending my free time playing golf, working out at the gym and writing music with my rock band. This year I have also made it a goal to spend more time reading—particularly books about American History and Financial Investments.
Servant-leadership is a quality I take great pride in possessing myself as well as seek to instill in others. The reason I decided to return this year to PLP is to assist and engage new members and the community at large in the pursuit of servant-leadership education. I very much look forward playing an active leadership role with the Professional Leadership Program during the 2017-2018 academic year and can not wait to meet our new members this fall!
