Fears, one of the fiercest players in recent history at North Texas, comes to the Mean Green after spending the last three seasons as an assistant girls basketball coach at Southlake Carroll High School.

In the 2001-02 season she scored 20 or more points six times, capped off by scoring a career-best 30. As a freshman in 1997-98 Fears scored 7.2 points a contest and pulled down 4.4 rebounds. After battling through injuries her next two seasons, Fears came back in the 2000-01 season to play in 29 games setting the stage for her breakout senior season.
