5.0 out of 5 stars Great Card! October 4, 2015
By Levi B.
I used this card in order to take advantage of the 21 month no interest on balance transfers. (I didn't qualify for financial aid and had to use a different card earlier in the year to pay for college tuition. YIKES!) I've had the card for 6 months now and it has been great! The app is easy to navigate and manage. I definitely recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars CITI IS A NIGHTMARE!!! RUN LIKE YOU ARE ON FIRE!!! December 28, 2015
They have ZERO customer service. Nobody you speak to ever seems to be the right person or have the power to affect any change or answer the question you're posing. If you haven't made your payment by 48hrs prior to the due date, the endless "reminder" calls, emails and (if you were stupid enough to give them your cell phone number) texts begin to roll in...and they are nothing but a legal form of harassment.

AND THEY GIVE OUT YOUR INFO TO ANYBODY!!! I have never in my life received as much junk mail and telemarketing calls (even though my numbers are on the do not call list) as I did after opening an account with them. Every company on earth seems to be a "third-party affiliate" of these people and they are willing to sell you out to all of them. Not to mention, they themselves will call and email you nonstop about every single product/offer that pops up in the entire Citi corporation from credit card features (i.e. debt insurance, points programs, auto pay, paperless statements, etc) to bank accounts, investment services, mortgages, home loans, etc. And this is NOT targeted marketing!!! You will get info about every possible product available to anyone on earth! For example, my 19yr old niece...a typical, full time college student...was bombarded with offers for lines of credit, second mortgages, investment planning and IRA's after her parents gave her a Citi card to take to school for emergencies. They actually canceled the card because it got so insane and the texts were actually beginning to cost them money and could not be stopped with any amount of "communication preference" changes. And this story is NOT unique! The man power required to handle their marketing must be astounding, but if you need to call them for customer service, good freaking luck!!!

Got approved for the Citi bank Costco visa card and was looking to close down some old accounts and go with the Citi bank simplicity card to take care of some balance transfers. I was surprised when I was denied as my credit is great, I went ahead and called in to see why, only to my surprise I was denied due to the fact I had recently applied for the Costco visa. I didn't apply for both cards on the same day I carefully waited and check all my options, and the guy told me that was the only reason, I said well can't we have that fixed. He replied no it was denied systematically so his hands were tied. He said wait a month and apply again you will be approved, I said kiss the fattest butt u can find. Are u telling me to put two incurious on my credit back to back for something u can simply override now.

3% fee for balance transfer is way too high. CHASE credit cards offer 0% fee.

I have AMAZING CREDIT. Applied because I heard this was a good card, but also heard it was bad. Well, I called; finally got someone and never heard someone so rude in my life at a credit card company. STAY AWAY FROM CITI, they are crappy. LOVE MY CAPITAL ONE PLATINUM, VISA, AND GM CARD. Also love my Discover card. but this is ridiculous, I cancelled the application after I called and talked to someone else. I'll be taking my money elsewhere. LOL too bad, i use cards like crazy then pay them off, trying to get my credit to look awesome.i make payments based on how much i owe, but never just buy then go pay off, its not gonna help your credit, you make minimum payments, never late, and then you can make good 100 dollar payments or multiple payments in the same month. THAT HELPS YOUR SCORE GO UP. anyways thought I'd help people who may want some advice. :D again I have multiple accounts and always treated with respect, never late, keep getting credit increases and this is one care I'll NEVER GO FOR AGAIN. Citi (Simplicity), I'm ashamed of how crappy your customer service people have treated me.I hope she never tells someone else They don't need people to apply for their cards, and her and her friends that work with her get paid no matter what. my money that i probably make at McDonalds or steal from the government is useless to such a great company like she help to build. WOW.
