Continuing Education Requirements

Director Track

In order to maintain your Director credential you must complete the Director renewal course prior to your expiration date.  There is no grace period for an expired Director credential.

Employment Services Track

In order to maintain your Basic and Advanced Employment Services credentials and your eligibility to provide employment services to TWS-VRS consumers, you must complete a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every three years. Six (6) hours of the 30 hours must be in Ethics. Fifteen (15) of the 30 hours must be taken from UNTWISE.

It is your responsibility to comply with the requirements for continuing education. A renewal application, required documentation and application fee should be submitted 8 weeks prior to the expiration date to ensure that your renewal is processed before your credential expires.

The expiration date is based on the calendar quarter date of your highest Basic Employment Services credential. Please remember your expiration date and credentials are posted on your UNTWISE user portal.

Example: If you hold the credential for Job Skills Trainer/Job Coach, Job Placement Specialist and Supported Employment, you will use the completion date for the Job Placement Specialist to determine the expiration date to use when submitting continuing education contact hours. If you completed your highest basic credential in July of 2015, your expiration date would be September 30, 2018.

Endorsement Track

In order to maintain your Endorsement, you must complete the endorsement renewal course prior to your expiration date.  If the endorsement that you hold requires the holder to mainatin a specific employment service credential, the credential must be current before the endorsement is renewed.  There is no grace period for an expired endorsement.
