Psychology Department Scholarships and Awards for Incoming Graduate Students

Psychology Department TI Incoming Student Award*

  1. Awarding Department: Psychology Department
  2. Department Contact: PSYC-Grad@unt.edu
  3. The applicant must be a student accepted to, or enrolled in a graduate program in the Psychology Department at the University of North Texas.
  4. Major: Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Behavioral Science
  5. Meet minimum admission requirements of the graduate programs in Psychology.
  6. Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on all graduate coursework undertaken at UNT.
  7. Maintain full-time student status while receiving scholarship funding. This will require the student to enroll in a minimum of nine graduate hours per long semester. Summer enrollment will be determined by the student's advisor.
  8. Maintain good academic standing while receiving scholarship funding. Funding may be withdrawn if the recipient is placed on academic probation.
  9. FAFSA: Required
  10. Selective Service Registration: Required
  11. Recipients will be required to sign a scholarship agreement.
  12. Eligibility: Only students who have not received awards from other sources at UNT will be considered.

*The amount of the scholarship award and the number of awards will be determined annually. May not be awarded every year.

Award: $1,000 ($500 fall semester/$500 spring semester)

Application: Available from December 15 - April 15.

Deadline to Apply: April 15

To Apply:

  • Must have completed all application materials and documents required for admission.
  • Complete the Application Form. (click here to download during the application period)
  • Email the completed and signed application form to PSYC-Grad@unt.edu by the deadline.

Charlotte Friedersdorff-Boyd Memorial Scholarship - Incoming Students Award*
