The Preservation Unit of the University of North Texas Libraries is responsible for protecting and maintaining materials in the Libraries' general collections, the Government Documents Department, the Music Library, and Special Collections. Consisting of the Processing Unit and the Preservation Lab, the Preservation Unit provides services to the UNT Libraries and our surrounding communities. The Preservation Unit repairs the libraries’ damaged circulating materials, creates custom housing and prepares exhibits for Special Collections, and processes new and gift items.
