Graduate Admissions

The Department of Counseling and Higher Education application is a 2-step process: 2 applications that go to 2 different places, each with a specific deadline.

1) Graduate School Application (Step 1 below)
2) Application for Counseling Program or Higher Education Program (Step 2 below)

Step 1: Graduate School Application

Apply through the UNT Toulouse Graduate School at www.applytexas.org at least one month before the program application deadline.   The grad school needs the following 4 items from you:

1) A completed graduate school application through www.applytexas.org

2) Application fee

3) Complete official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended

4) Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores

You must meet the admission requirements of the Toulouse Graduate School, including a minimum 3.5 GPA on a Master's degree work (if applying with a Master's degree), 3.0 on Bachelor's (if applying without a Master's degree), or GPA of 3.0 on the last 60 credit hours you took if applying with a Bachelor's degree.

Note: If you are a current UNT Master's student who is applying to a doctoral program, you must contact the Graduate School and inform them of your intention to pursue a doctoral degree.
