First Things First: Browser Check
Blackboard has a built-in Browser Check feature, which you can find immediately after logging in. Under the "My Institution" tab, scroll down until you see a box called "Browser Check;" there, you can perform a full browser check!

Unsupported Browsers
The following technologies are not supported:
- Windows XP
- Windows, Mac OS, and Linux systems not running a supported browser
- Internet Explorer versions 10 and lower which are no longer supported by Microsoft; Internet Explorer on mobile devices
- Firefox versions 30 and lower on desktop; all Firefox versions on mobile devices
- Chrome versions 35 and lower (version 34 and lower on mobile devices)
- Safari versions 5 and lower
- JRE 5 for Blackboard Learn Original user interfaces
Install Plug-Ins for Blackboard
Some Blackboard courses use browser plug-ins to run certain types of multimedia (e.g. streaming video). To view portions of these courses, you may need one or more of these plug-ins. You may download all of the following, or just come back to this page when you need them.

It is recommended that instructors that wish to use .mov video files in their course contact their Instructional Consultant to have to video file coverted to a more widely support format.
Turning Off Popup Blockers
If you are unable to view discussion postings, quiz windows, and download links, then you may need to disable pop-up blocking. Here are links to instructors for how to disable popups for Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer.
