Dr. Veronica Jones
Assistant Professor, Counseling and Higher Education
Dr. Veronica Jones earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Texas A & M University. She brings over 10 years of K-12 experience as an English as a Second Language educator. Dr. Jones was postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Texas at Austin where she became a research team member for the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color. During her time at University of Texas, she also had the opportunity to collaborate with centers such as the Center for Community College Student Engagement. She currently is a faculty affiliate for Project M.A.L.E.S. (Mentoring to Achieve Latino Success). In 2016, Dr. Jones received an Officers' Research Grant from the William T. Grant Foundation for the “Programs, Policies, and Practices that Reduce Inequality” initiative. Her research focuses on racial identity and intersectionality, male students of color in higher education, and student engagement and activism. Dr. Jones most recently began exploring discourse analysis as a methodology. She grew up in Richardson and is happy to be back home in the North Texas area.

Dr. Cliff Harbour
Professor, Counseling and Higher Education
Dr. Cliff Harbour earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Rhode Island College, a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Duke University, a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University, and a Doctor of Education from North Carolina State University. Before his career at the university, Dr. Harbour practiced law in Colorado and was a faculty member and administrator at a community college in North Carolina. Prior to arriving at the University of North Texas, Dr. Harbour was on the faculty of the School of Education at Colorado State University and the College of Education at the University of Wyoming. His research primarily focuses on civic engagement at the community college, the normative vision of community college education, and performance funding at the community college. His research and scholarship has been published in the Community College Review, the Community College Journal of Research and Practice, the Review of Higher Education, and Equity & Excellence in Education. Dr. Harbour is a member of the Council for the Study of Community Colleges, the American Educational Research Association, the Association for the Study of Higher Education, and the John Dewey Society.
