Home Opener Today For North Texas Women's Basketball

DENTON, Tex. (11/18/07) After starting the season out with four games away from the Super Pit, the North Texas women’s basketball team begins the home season with a battle against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 2 p.m.

 

North Texas has won two straight games and is coming off a 16-point victory over Sam Houston State on Thursday night.

 

North Texas leads the series with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 4-2. The Mean Green is perfect against the Islanders at the Super Pit with a record of 2-0,

 

North Texas is 21-10 in its home openers all-time. The Mean Green is riding quite a winning streak in home openers as North Texas has won four straight home openers and nine of its last ten. The Mean Green has won the last four home openers by an average of 17 points.

 

North Texas is going after its first three-game winning streak since the 2005-06 season. The Mean Green had two three-game winning streaks during that 19-win campaign.

 

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi enters the Super Pit having lost its first three games of the season. The Islanders dropped it season opener by three points to Belmont and then lost by only to SMU at home. UTEP beat the Islanders by 15 points on the road on Thursday.
