DENTON, Texas - The North Texas women's basketball team has turned the calendar to 2011 and look to ring in the New Year in style as they host the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns today at 2 p.m. Following a five-point loss to UALR to begin Sun Belt Conference play, the Mean Green looks to bounce back against Louisiana-Lafayette at the Super Pit.

North Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette will meet for the 29th time in series history. The series has been very competitive as it is tied at 14-14. At home the Mean Green has a big edge over Louisiana-Lafayette with a record of 10-4, including a 90-67 win over the Ragin Cajuns last season.

Jasmine Godbolt had her streak of scoring in double figures end against UALR as she scored only six points against the Trojans. That ended her streak of 17 straight games of scoring in double figures, which was the longest streak by a North Texas player since the 2001-02 season. Godbolt might have been bottled up scoring, but she did dish out a career-high three assists against UALR.

North Texas has been struggling from the free throw line this season, but against UALR the Mean Green turned in the best performance from the line this season.

North Texas hit 82.4 percent of its free throws, (14-for-17). It was the first time that North Texas was over the 80 percent mark from the free throw line this year and only the second time that North Texas hit on 70 percent of its free throws or more this season.
