DENTON – Both men’s and women’s basketball programs will host two home games from Thursday, Jan. 25 through Sunday, Jan 28, at the Super Pit.

The men’s team will start things off with a key matchup on Thursday, Jan. 25, against Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m., who is 9-10 and is tied with North Texas at 3-4 in Conference play. The Mean Green will face FIU (9-11, 3-4 C-USA) on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m.

Sophomore Roosevelt Smart leads the men’s team in scoring at 19.5 points per game and leads the C-USA in 3-pointers made at 75, which is fifth nationally. Smart is closing in on the school record for three-pointers in a single-season held by Calvin Watson, who hit 90 in 2006-07. Ryan Woolridge is second in scoring at 12.6 points per game and has dished out 116 assists, which is 25th in the nation.

North Texas is 6-3 at the Super Pit this season coming off two tough road losses last weekend. The Mean Green are third in the C-USA in three-pointers made as a team at 8.3 per game. The school record for most three-pointers in a season is 250 with North Texas sitting at 166 made in 20 games.

The North Texas women’s basketball team hosts first-place Western Kentucky (14-5, 5-1 C-USA) on Friday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. and UTEP (12-6, 3-2 C-USA) on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m. Sunday will also be the Mean Green’s alumni game.

UNT is led by guard Terriell Bradley who is averaging 17.4 points per game, which ranks fourth highest in C-USA. Bradley is also closing in on 1,000 career points. She enters Friday’s game against the Lady Toppers with 915 points.

The Mean Green are returning home after a two-game road trip. North Texas heads into Friday’s game with an 8-2 record at the Super Pit and are four home wins shy of setting the single-season record for home wins. In UNT’s 10 home games this year the team is outscoring its opponents by an average of 15 points per game. The nation’s No. 3 scoring defense holds its opponents to just 47.7 points per game at the Super Pit.
