Jan. 16, 2018

IRVING -- North Texas guard Terriell Bradley was named Conference USA's Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading her Mean Green women's basketball team to two victories while averaging 22.5 points per game.

Bradley, who was selected to the preseason all-conference team, led all scorers in both games and shot a combined 57 percent from the field. She secured North Texas' win on Saturday by making two free throws with nine seconds remaining in the game to give UNT a 5-point lead.

It is her first career C-USA Player of the Week honor.

"It's a great accomplishment and honor to be named conference player of the week," Bradley said. "I work hard everyday in practice and it feels good for that to be noticed. Also, I'm very proud of our team and going 2-0 this week at home."

On Thursday in UNT's 63-56 win over Old Dominion, Bradley made a career-high four 3-pointers in rout to finishing with 23 points on 6-of-12 shooting. She had four rebounds in the game and added three assists to her stat line. On defense, Bradley was a key piece to the Mean Green defense that held Old Dominion's leading scorer to zero points.

On Saturday, Bradley led North Texas to the program's first-ever win over Charlotte with a 22-point performance and a team-high seven rebounds.

In the first-half, Bradley directed an 11-point Mean Green comeback by blocking three 49er shots and shooting a perfect first-half field goal percentage. At the first-half buzzer, Bradley gave UNT its first lead of the game with an offensive rebound and put-back as the clock rang zero.

Bradley and North Texas carried that momentum into the second half where they'd battle back-and-forth with Charlotte. Bradley scored 15 of her 22 points in the second half and eventually sealed the victory for the Mean Green with her two late free throws.

Through 16 games, Bradley leads the team in scoring with 17.6 points per game. She is also second in rebounding, second in assists, second in field goal percentage and second in steals.

Bradley's 282 points scored this season ranks fourth out of all C-USA players.

She is only 16 points shy of scoring her 900th career-point.

North Texas is on the road at Middle Tennessee this Thursday. The game will be aired live on ESPN3 and the Mean Green Radio Network KNTU 88.1 FM.
