Beating cancer with confidence on the catwalk

Typical catwalks feature exotic models clad in clothes most could never hope to afford. But the Denton chapter of the American Cancer Society’s annual “You’re Beautiful!” Luncheon and Style Show is anything but typical.

Discarding the archetypal standard of beauty models, this fashion show favors something a little more grounded in reality: All models featured are cancer survivors.

Fourteen cancer survivors ranging from first-year teenagers to first-year senior citizens donned stylish outfits and took to the stage Friday to show the world — and cancer — that they were here and could not be stopped. What resulted was a teary-eyed crowd and a celebration of the strength the survivors show every day.

Very courageous people to get up and take that stand! Reading the quotes you understand more about the thoughts they think on a daily basis. My heart and prayers go out to everyone who has been touched by cancer. Awesome job on the photos you two!!!!!
