2018 UNT Interior Design Senior Show
2018 Senior Show of
Interior Design program in the College of Visual Arts & Design was held on
April 28th, Saturday, at Gateway Center, Ballroom 35. This Senior
Show was an annual design showcase of senior students’ research-based final
projects which are, not limited to, residential, commercial, hospitality, and
healthcare design. The reception started from 2 to 5 pm.

UNT Interior Design Students’ Sustainability Projects Showcased in EarthX 2018
UNT Interior
Design program participated in EarthX 2018 at Fair Park Dallas from April 20th
to 22nd. Professor Bruce Nacke guided the student group for sustainability
projects and those projects were featured through displays and videos. UNT CVAD
Interior Design program booth was located in the Automotive Building. It was great success to represent UNT ID program incorporated with sustainability aspects.

CVAD Scholarships for Interior Design Undergraduate Students
CVAD
has two scholarships specific to Interior Design undergraduate students. One is
a $3000 scholarship, and the other is a $500 scholarship. Students will need to
be enrolled full-time next year (seniors who are graduating in the fall are
also eligible).

2018 FORT WORTH CSI Scholarship
The Fort
Worth Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute Scholarship program
for 2018 is available. Applicants may be
entering freshmen or returning college students who are taking at least 12
undergraduate or 6 graduate hours each semester, and who have at least 24 hours
remaining in their undergraduate program until graduation, or 12 hours in their
graduate program, at the end of the 2018 Spring semester. Applicants must be
majoring in a design profession related to the built environment such as
Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering (i.e. Civil,
HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, Environmental, etc.) or a
construction-related field such as Construction Management or Construction

Remembrance of Chuck Hagemeier
The UNT
CVAD Interior Design program has lost a dear friend and one of our most beloved
mentors and Advisory Board members. Chuck Hagemeier, passed away February 16,
in Austin.
Chuck had been a Senior Associate with Gensler for twenty years until his retirement in 2016. For the last twelve years, he had shared his considerable gifts as a communicator, facilitator and supporter of design education with our students and faculty. He participated in studio critiques, presented at lecture series, taught a residential design project, contributed to Advisory Board meetings, and tirelessly attended our annual Senior Show event. We were continually rejuvenated by his jovial presence and exuberance for life.
