EDUCATING STUDENTS TO MEET WORKFORCE DEMANDS

Food , fashion, and fibers have been at the heartbeat of UNT for over 100 years. Domestic science courses (i.e., the precursor to merchandising and hospitality management) have been taught at UNT since 1911, when the campus was known as North Texas State Normal College. In the 1990s our name was changed to reflect the growing tie to industry. Through the strong leadership of visionary deans, the College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism has remained consistent and central to UNT’s mission of “educating students to meet workforce demands".
