Marketing & Logistics Department Scholarships

Department of Marketing & Logistics are competitively awarded by the Department's General Scholarship Committee to marketing, logistics and aviation logistics majors on the basis of academic excellence, merit, professionalism, and need. Amounts vary from year to year depending on contributions. Awards are available for undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students. Eligibility

  1. Students must be a declared business major at time of application.
  2. Each scholarship (listed below) has its own set of eligibility criteria. Be sure that you meet all of the requirements for each scholarship you apply for.
  3. Students must be at least one semester away from graduation.
  4. Students awarded scholarships must sign the Scholarship Acceptance Agreement and provide a thank you letter to the scholarship donor.

How to Apply

Read through the requirements of the various scholarships listed below, then click Apply Now at the bottom of the page. Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.

Your application must include the following items to be considered
  1. A complete scholarship application – follow link below.
  2. A complete set of transcripts showing all academic work including Fall 2018, including transfer work. (Attach file)
  3. An essay detailing your accomplishments and personal successes as well as your need for a scholarship. You are limited to one page, with 1" margins, and 12 point font. Your name and Student ID must be included in the header. (Attach file)
  4. A complete resume including work experience, activities, and educational background. (Attach file)
Important Notes
  1. Your actual course enrollment will be verified during the semesters you receive a scholarship. If you do not meet the criteria, the scholarship may be revoked.
  2. Payment authorization will be made only after course enrollment and eligibility requirements are verified by the 12th class day of the semester. Scholarship winners are strongly encouraged to register early.

Application deadline is March 1 at 5:00 p.m.

Department of Marketing Scholarships

Marketing General Scholarship
  1. Currently enrolled Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at University of North Texas.
  2. Accepted into the College of Business (completed pre-business course requirements).
  3. Hold a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 at the time of application.
  4. Be a declared business major, with a declared intent to major in marketing or logistics.
  5. Be a full-time student, taking a minimum of 12 academic hours, during the time the scholarship payment is made.
  6. Be at least two full semesters (Fall, Spring) away from graduation during the time the scholarship payment is made.
  7. Have at least 24 hours of undergraduate course work to complete as of the forthcoming Fall and Spring semesters.
  8. Understand that the scholarship, if awarded, will apply in the next academic year. That is, if you earn a scholarship, the scholarship will be awarded beginning on September 1 forthcoming.

  4. CUML GPA ≥3.0 competitive basis, extracurricular activities and financial need
The Promotional Products Education Foundation - SAGE Scholarship, To be eligible for this Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
  1. Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the Department of Marketing and Logistics (or its successor) in effect at the time of any award;
  2. Maintain full-time enrollment as established by the University, unless the student is nearing completion of his or her degree program and does not need full-time enrollment;
  3. Have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale; and
  4. Enroll as a full-time junior or senior majoring in Marketing (or its successor) at the University.

A student may be eligible to receive this Scholarship in successive years if he or she reapplies and continues to meet the criteria above.

ISM-Fort Worth Scholarship
  1. Operations and Supply Chain Management majors
  2. Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the College of Business in effect at the time of the award
  3. Maintain full-time enrollment at UNT unless they have fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full-time in their degree program
  4. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; if there are no otherwise qualified applicants with a minimum of 3.0 GPA, qualified students with a GPA below 3.0 will be considered

If no applicant possesses the previous characteristics, then full-time College of Business students at UNT will be eligible for consideration. Additionally...

  1. Recipient must be an in-state student
  2. The scholarship award shall be equally dispersed by UNT between two academic semesters to ensure that the recipient is continuing to meet the requirements of eligibility
  3. Preference will be given to students who meet the above characteristics and are active in extracurricular activities both internal and external to UNT
Lorch Folz Memorial Scholarship

Undergraduate Students:

  1. Operations and Supply Chain Management majors
  2. Maintain full-time enrollment at UNT during the semester in which the scholarship is granted
  3. Must have completed 60 semester hours
  4. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  5. Permanent residents or citizens of the United States
  6. Must express intent to enter the manufacturing industry, preferably in Texas but certainly in the United States

Note: A student who is awarded the Lorch Folz Memorial Scholarship for the junior year is eligible to have the scholarship renewed for the senior year provided that s/he continues to meet the eligibility criteria.
