A native of China, pianist Miaomiao Wang launched her career in opera as the head coach of the Beijing Opera Center in season 2005 and has since served as rehearsal pianist and assistant coach for The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, New England Conservatory and Boston University Opera Institute. Dr. Wang is an alumna of the San Francisco Merola Opera program and received her doctor of musical arts degree from the Boston University.

Outside of opera, Dr. Wang has collaborated with the Eschler music foundation and Salty Cricket Composers Collective in promoting new chamber music. Dr. Wang has conducted masterclasses for the voice and opera department of Northwest University and piano department for Nationalities and Utah Valley University. She has taught opera outreach programs for the public schools in Austin Texas, the greater Connecticut area and the greater Boston area.

Dr. Wang has coached for Boston Lyric Opera, Anchorage Opera, Spotlight Opera, Opera in the Ozarks, including the full productions of Un Ballo in Maschera, Le Nozze di Figaro, Il Matrimonio Segreto, Les Malheurs D’orphée, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, L’amico Fritz, Die Zauberflöte, La serva padrona, The Medium, Trouble in Tahiti, Lucy and Three December and scenes from Dialogues des carmélites, Hansel and Gretel, Così  fan tutte, Don Giovanni, La clemenza di Tito, La traviata, La bohème, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, Die Fledermaus, The pirates of Penzance, Falstaff, La forza del destino, I pagliacci, The Barber of Seville. In 2008 She performed the world premiere of the opera Yellow Wallpaper by Catherine Reid.

She is honored to serve as the assistant music director at the UNT Opera.
