As a Wisconsin native, one of his favorite memories at North Texas occurred during the winter of 1973, when an inch of snow fell overnight. He worked as an audio-visual teaching assistant. “I received calls the next morning from students living in a residence hall across the street saying that they wouldn't come to class due to the snow and fear of slipping and falling,” he says. “I asked each caller if they were joking, as I had ridden my 10-speed bike to campus that day.”
