William Scharnberg joined the faculty at the University of North Texas in 1983 and became a Regents Professor in 2002. He is principal horn of the Dallas Opera Orchestra and Wichita Falls Symphony and regularly performs chamber music in a variety of venues. He has been a member of the faculty at the University of Oklahoma, Pacific Lutheran University, the Royal Music Academy of Stockholm, and Central Missouri State University.
James Ryon has appeared internationally as recitalist and soloist. Recent performances include the Bach D Minor Concerto with the Southern Illinois Music Festival, the Strauss Oboe Concerto with the Orchestra Sinfonica Brasileira and both the Strauss Concerto and the Telemann Concerto for Oboe d'Amore with the UANL Chamber Orchestra in Monterrey, Mexico. In 2011 he was appointed Professor of Oboe at the University of North Texas College of Music and he continues to serve as the Principal Oboist of the Baton Rouge Symphony.
A native of Croatia, Nikola Nino Ružević has performed in many countries around the world where he has received critical acclaim for his artistry. The Los Angeles Times writes about his playing: "... thrilling intensity and apprehensible projection", " ... compelling narrative skills and imaginative coloring. Each piece told a story the listener could immerse in."
Cynthia Roberts is one of America's leading baroque violinists and has appeared as soloist, leader, and recitalist throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. She has served as concertmaster of the New York Collegium, Apollo's Fire, Concert Royal, and Les Arts Florissants. She performs regularly with the Boston Early Music Festival, Tafelmusik, and the American Bach Soloists. She has appeared with the London Classical Players, Taverner Players, Clarion Music Society, and Smithsonian Chamber Players.
Terence Reynolds is an adjunct instructor of horn and chamber music at the University of North Texas. He is an original member of the Dallas Opera Orchestra horn section. He performs regularly with Texas Winds Musical Outreach, the Basically Beethoven Festival and numerous other Metroplex groups. He was a member of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra for 15 years. He has performed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Montana Chamber Music Festival, Dallas Summer Musicals, and Casa Mañana Orchestra. He also toured with orchestras for Frank Sinatra and Andrea Bocelli.
Kathleen Reynolds joined the College of Music at the University of North Texas as Professor of Bassoon and Woodwind Chamber Music Coordinator in the fall of 1995. She is principal bassoonist of the Dallas Opera Orchestra and performs regularly with the Dallas Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, and Chamber Music International. EcoClassics recorded her solo bassoon CD, Gems for Bassoon, with pianist Michele Levin and clarinetist Mitchell Lurie.
Cellist Eugene Osadchy is hailed for having "the most refined and balanced string playing" by the New York Times and has been called "a paragon of Russian élan" by the Vancouver Sun. Newsday writes he is "a soloist with a clearly defined musical personality" and is noted for his "extraordinary playing" by the Dallas Morning News. "Mr. Osadchy possesses a very rich tone and is steeped in the great classical tradition. It is good to know that there are ardent keepers of the flame", wrote the New York Sun.
German-born and raised violinist, Dr. Felix Olschofka, has toured as a soloist, concertmaster, and chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. His playing has been described as "violinistic pyrotechnics" (TheaterJones Dallas), "charged with beauty" (Gramophone), "a true dream of romantic melodiousness" (General-Anzeiger-Bonn), and "remarkable for dramatic power" (Star-Telegram Fort Worth).
Eric Nestler has been on the faculty of the University of North Texas College of Music since 1992. He is currently Professor of Music and formerly chaired the Doctor of Musical Arts degree committee. Nestler has served as a member of the summer music faculty of the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada and has taught on the faculty of Vincennes University, IN. Mr. Nestler presented his New York debut recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in May 2003 and continues to be an active recitalist and clinician throughout the United States and abroad.
