This season the Mean Green finished in fourth-place at the Conference USA Championships. Six swimmers were named to the All-Conference Team.

In the 2015-16 season, Coach Roth as an assistant coach at North Texas, helped the Mean Green to a fourth-place finish at the Conference USA Championships, the best team finish since joining the league for the 2013-14 season.

The league championships capped one of the most successful seasons in school history, as they finished with the second-most dual-meet wins (7-4) and second-best winning percentage (.636) in school history.

Freshman Rebekah Bradley earned all-conference honors in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke, including a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke that is the first for the program since joining the league. Sophomore Claudia Kitching also earned all-conference honors in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.

The duo combined for 15 NCAA B time standards in those four events, and Bradley also set the school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.13 in the preliminaries of the Conference USA Championships.

In 2014-15, she helped North Texas to a 4-4 record in 2014-15, including a 3-1 start, the best start in program history. The team earned all-conference honors in the 400 medley relay and 400 IM.

Seniors Krista Rossum and Mona Groteguth set three program records and notched NCAA B-qualifying times in five events. Rossum’s program-best marks came in the 200 IM (2:00.35) and 400 IM (4:15.22) in consecutive days at the C-USA meet, while Groteugth claimed the 200 backstroke record (1:56.20) at Incarnate Word’s Christmas Invitational.

In 2013-14, the team’s first season in C-USA, Mean Green swimmers set four program records and achieve NCAA B-qualifying times in three events. Rossum originally broke the school record in the 400 individual medley at the Houston Invitational and then went on to break it again at the conference championships finishing with a 4:16.95 time. Groteguth set program records in the 100 backstroke (54.02) and 200 backstroke (1:56.62), accomplishing both feats at the Houston Invitational.

Before making her way to North Texas, Roth spent three seasons with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs. She helped coach 31 individual league champions over the course of the three seasons and sent the first-ever female in Horizon League history and the first ever Panther to swim in the NCAA Championships.

Roth worked with Emily McClellan, the program’s first female, and also the first female from the Horizon League, to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships. She swam in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 IM at the 2011 NCAA Championships. McClellan would also post the league’s first ever NCAA A-qualifying times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and just missed honorable mention All-American honors at the 2012 NCAA Championships. That same season, she also helped the men’s program finished with an undefeated record.

Prior to her career in Milwaukee, Roth spent two year at Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Indiana, where she was the high school boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving head coach, as well as the coach of the USA Swimming Sugar Creek Swim Club Satellite program.

Roth was a four-year swimmer at Ball State, where she qualified for the 2006 U.S. Open in the 100 and 200 backstroke. As team co-captain her senior year, she claimed the team’s High Point Award and twice earned Mid-American Conference Academic All-Team honors and was nominated MAC Senior of the Year.

In addition to claiming all-league second-team honors on two occasions, she broke school records in both the 100 and 200 backstroke and was a part of a record-setting 400 medley relay team. After her four years of eligibility had passed, she worked a season as the student assistant at Ball State.

My daughter loved this camp! She was exhausted from all the swimming, but that's good! That's what I paid for. Friendly and knowledgable staff. She will definitely be back. Mom of a happy camper!

Excellent!

The camp was overall beneficial and she really liked her camp counselors. Plus the underwater video analysis was well done.  It also got results! Having a swim meet at the end, where the swimmers and parents could see immediate improvement was excellent.

Thanks Again Nike!

My daughter was really nervous to go because she didn't know anyone else but she ended up having a blast and wants to do the sleepover camp next year. The instructors and other campers were awesome. Thanks again Nike!

It is great for any level of swimmer!

I wish they had this camp a couple times a year so that my daughter could attend. She had an amazing time and wanted to stay longer. The coaches were great and really took the time to break down the strokes for the kids so that they could understand the fundamentals. There was enough variety in the daily activities that kept the kids entertained. In one week my 9 year old daughter dropped significant time in all 4 strokes which is saying a lot. She just need to work on technique and once she did it made all the difference. I can't say enough positive things about this camp. It is great for any level of swimmer!

Highly recommend this camp!

My 10 year old son attended the Nike Swim Camp at UNT in July 2012. He is an intermediate level competitive swimmer and it was his first time to attend a swim camp. It was a great experience. The coaches were very enthusiastic and positive and he made a significant improvement to his backstroke and breaststroke technique in the short time he was there. I highly recommend this camp!

Great experience!

This camp really helped me identify problems of my stroke and taught me how to correct them, even sent me home with a packet of all the drills we went through. Everything is great about this camp, for any age! You don't wanna miss an experience like this!

A lot of fun!

This is the sencond year my 10 year old son attended this camp. Each time he improved significantly. He loves it and would like to come back next year. Coach Joe Dystra and his team are great. The focus is on the techniques. The workout intensity is moderate. They also stress the importance of eating right. It's a well balanced program and they had a lot of fun.

One on one coaching.

This is our child second time to attend the Nike swim camp at UNT. We were very satisfied with the techniques and one on one coaching. I would highly recommend the Nike swim camp to anyone. Keep in mind, we have attended other swim camps in Texas but this one (Nike Camp) is the most beneficial for our swimmer.
