DENTON, Texas (10/29/09) - The North Texas soccer team will look to get back on track this Saturday when they travel to Denver, Colorado to take on their arch-nemesis Denver Pioneers at 1 p.m. (CT). The game was originally scheduled to take place Friday evening but was moved to Saturday due to inclement weather.

North Texas had a difficult stretch last weekend when they had to settle for a 0-0 double-overtime draw at Middle Tennessee and then lost their first conference game of the season at Western Kentucky University 2-0.

Now the Mean Green face a daunting task by traveling to a frigid atmosphere where they are 0-3 in school history and will have to do so without the services of leading goal-scorer Michelle Young. The Freshman of the Year candidate suffered the head injury 15 minutes into the contest against WKU and has been ruled out for Saturday. However, the coaching staff does believe Young will be able to return for the SBC Tournament.

The Mean Green (11-5-2, 7-1-2) enter Saturday's game as the fourth seed in the Sun Belt Conference, however, the opportunity to move as high as first is still available.

FIU (10-5-3, 8-1-1), a team North Texas played to a 2-2 double-overtime tie earlier this month, is alone in first place and will play at home against Florida Atlantic (5-11-3, 3-6-1). A win over the Owls would give the Golden Panthers their first regular season championship in school history.

WKU (13-4-1, 8-2), Denver (13-5-1, 8-2) and North Texas are all tied for the second best record in the conference but the Lady 'Toppers hold the tie-breaker over both teams. WKU will host fifth place Middle Tennessee (12-4-2, 6-3-1) Friday evening.
