An excellent showing by Maria in the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships round of 64 match ends in a heartbreaking third set lost to the No. 11 nationally ranked player.

Kononova wins the first set but falls 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 to Miami's Estela Perez-Somarriba who reached the semifinals of the 2017 NCAA Individual Championships.

Maria and Tamuna will play their round of 32 doubles match at 4:45 ct against a Univ. of Georgia team.
