Related Field in Vocal Pedagogy

All graduate students are required to do a related field of study. There are many options in the College of Music including Vocal Pedagogy. Vocal Pedagogy is a very strong program at UNT under the leadership of a world-recognized authority.

For the MM degree
A  minimum of 9 hours:
MUAG 5600 – Advanced Science and Pedagogy of Singing
MUAG 5610 – Comparative Pedagogy of Singing

One additional course from:
MUAG 5450 – Introduction to Music and Medicine
MUAG 5900 – Special Problems
SPHS 5810 – Voice Disorders

For the DMA degree
A minimum of 12 hours:
MUAG 5600 – Advanced Science and Pedagogy of Singing
MUAG 5610 – Comparative Pedagogy of Singing

Two additional courses from:
MUAG 5450 – Introduction to Music and Medicine
MUAG 6450 – Advanced Music and Medicine Seminar
MUAG 6900 – Special Problems
SPHS 5810 – Voice Disorders

Or other courses which might be appropriate for the specific research interests of the student with approval of the students’ graduate committee.
