Bio: 

Ana M. Lopez is an Associate Professor, teaching Metalsmithing & Jewelry as well as History of Crafts at the University of North Texas. She holds an MFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from the Cranbrook Academy of Art and an MA in the History of American Decorative Arts from Parsons School of Design & The Smithsonian Associates. Her creative work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and includes a commission for the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She is also the author of the reference book Metalworking Through History: An Encyclopedia, published in the Spring of 2009 by Greenwood Press. Courses taught include Beginning Metalsmithing & Jewelry Studio, Intermediate Metalsmithing & Jewelry: Mechanisms and Multiples, Intermediate Metalsmithing & Jewelry: Plasticity, Intermediate Metalsmithing & Jewelry: Technology, Advanced Metalsmithing & Jewelry Studio, Graduate Metalsmithing & Jewelry Studio, and History of Crafts.
