MUSEUMS! DALLAS! EXTRA CREDIT!
Hello!
...Next Thursday, December 7, 2017, I will be taking a small group of New Media students to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Warehouse. New Media will cover your museum admittance fees, but you will be responsible for getting to Dallas on time – and carpooling is strongly recommended.
As extra incentive, if you are currently enrolled in one of my classes and attend this day at the museums (BOTH MUSEUMS) -- I will award 1 extra credit point added onto your lowest grade of the semester.
If you’d like to attend – please click below and sign up on the accompanying list with your contact information. First come first serve!
Looking forward to it!
Best,
Professor LaFleur

The Intermedia Performance Art course invites UNT New Media students to enroll this spring semester. Contact Prof. David Stout < david.stout@unt.edu > for details.
The course is an immersive hands-on inter-departmental laboratory for the creation of collaborative intermedia performance & installation work(s). The course culminates in a large scale final project presented in and around the Merrill Ellis Intermedia Theatre (located in the UNT College of Music). Advanced undergr...aduate and graduate students from Music, Visual Art, Dance, Film, Creative Writing and Media are encouraged to apply. This is one of the few opportunities to work intimately across disciplinary boundaries in the arts at UNT.
Course activities include participation in creative think-tank discussions, performance presentations and critiques, completion of a variety of production and organizational tasks, and the creative realization of both a mid-term and final inter-media production project. A greater emphasis will be placed on collaborative process and interdisciplinary compositional methods, as opposed to, technical training in hardware or software applications. It is not assumed that all class members are equally versed in the specific techniques of interactive video, robotics, web art, midi performance, music composition, stage design, fiber art, sculpture and/or physical construction, however, students should share an interest in collaborative works that mix mediums, disciplines and technical modalities. Students are encouraged to share their knowledge and technical know how through outside class activities, which will include lab groups, software workshops and other intensives that support the concept and realization of the final project.
