Research Spotlight

UNT's Cyber Forensics Lab at the UNT New College at Frisco has already made big strides since opening a year ago. Scott Belshaw, assistant professor of criminal justice and cyber lab director, started with a grand vision for a cyber research laboratory solely dedicated to analyzing cellphone data from devices used in criminal activities.

"UNT's Strategic Plan for Research: 2017-2022" was filed with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in response to the board's request that institutions update their strategic plans for research. Leading up to the revision, research was one of the primary topics covered in President Smatresk's 2015 Planning Implementation Workshop and Vice President Tom McCoy hosted a town hall to bring faculty together to look at UNT's path toward national research prominence.
