Needs Statement

This program was developed to provide the audience with an overview of the progress in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.  Healthcare providers who do not typically work with or diagnosis patients with dementia will gain valuable information for their patients.  

Target Audience

This program was developed for physicians, nurses, social workers and licensed professional counselors.

Objectives

• Discuss brain changes that leads to therapeutic strategies at each stage;
• Compare and contrast medications used from one phase to the next;
• Identify the therapeutic strategies emerging for symptomatic AD, MCI, and prevention (delay) of onset symptoms
