The Practical Pedagogue: Building Strong Voices 12 Different Ways

This year the workshop will focus on traditional voice building leading to growth and development:

  • How to build a robust quality in the voice
  • How to eliminate breathiness
  • How to teach the male high voice and extend the range
  • How to get your young sopranos and mezzos to sing successfully above the staff
  • All based upon pedagogy as taught by Garcia, Lamperti, Stockhausen and other important 19th century teachers.

Student singers are invited to attend at no charge if accompanied by their voice teacher. They will be offered the opportunity to sing in master classes and observed lessons given by Dr. Austin.
