The University of North Texas Health Science Center is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to award continuing medical education to physicians.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center has requested that the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve this program for 1.00 hour of AOA Category 2A CME credits. Approval is currently pending.

Objectives

  • Define and list differential diagnoses steps related to respiratory distress in the pediatric patient,
  • Discuss the etiology and epidemiology related to pediatric patients with bronchiolitis and other respiratory disorders/diseases,
  • Make pediatric respiratory diagnoses by assessing history, physical exam, and utilizing the AAP guidelines,
  • Identify appropriate treatment, as recommended by the AAP guidelines.

Target Audience

This activity was designed to address the educational needs of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with an interest in the care of children with pulmonary disease.
